MODERN LIVING AND LOCALISATION
Modern living is a result of global transport and exchange, and we now take access to resources
from all parts of the world for granted.
Though the ease with which we exchange goods and information leads us to
forget their environmental cost, efforts to think and act locally are an obvious part of a sustainable future.
Are there benefits of buying locally? What does it mean to local economies that money and goods cross borders?
Lisa Pelling (@lisa_pelling) and Veronica Nordlund from Global Utmaning/Global Challenge (@GlobalUt) will discuss this from a transnational perspective, while Tom Strömberg, JAK Medlemsbank, explore the possibilities of staying local.
